Future home designers get a head start with playhouses

WHAT’S HAPPENING

  • Netherlands-based company QB Playhouses lets little artists personalize the look of their playhouses from the start of the ordering process.
  • First, kids pick a model: original, city or tree; they can either keep it as a blank canvas or select colors from QB’s happy hued palate to cover the trim work, door or siding. Or, kids can plaster their playhouse in one of 12 patterns.
  • If picking a color or pre-made pattern isn’t personal enough, tiny tastemakers can submit their own photos or designs and QB will wrap it around the exterior.

WHAT THIS MEANS TO BUSINESS

  • Gen We has a sticky FingerprintingSM mentality, as they’ve grown up with the opportunity to customize almost anything and everything. Whether it’s the chance to turn a toy into an art project or incorporate their personality into a product, kids love putting their prints all over their stuff.

RESOURCES

  • qb: prices start around €700 (or $930) for a basic playhouse and increases up from €900 (or $1,195) for additional colors
