WHAT’S HAPPENING
- Who says drinkers can’t multitask? The Horse Bazaar bar in Australia has created the world’s first Rear Projection TV Urinal.
- The projector displays a continuous image on the back of the urinal so viewers won’t miss a minute of their favorite show while taking some “me” time; in the more public forum of the dining room, a 65-foot digital canvas screens the same program (Gizmodo 8.10.09).
- The pub is a patron of the arts and the boozer: The Horse holds a highly coveted annual digital arts contest.
WHAT THIS MEANS TO BUSINESS
- It doesn’t take the smarts of Mr. Wizard to know that folks in the loo are a captive audience. Consumers are seeking to be constantly connected — and entertained — even in locales once considered an oasis of personal space.
